Student of the Month

I am thankful that my child behaves better at school than he does at home!  

The first three months of the school year, Carson would come home at the end of the month on the day they had announced each teacher's pick for student of the month; and be SO angry...I wanted to be student of the month, blah, blah, etc. etc...  I kept trying to explain to him that it was a long school year, and IF he got student of the month it would only be one time, and he had all year to make that happen, but if he was pouty about it, then he probably wouldn't ever be picked.  

So we talked about behaviors typically found in student of the month kind of kids, and I think it was helpful for both of us, and kind of a good teaching opportunity.  

He was pleased as punch to be able to come home and tell me he had been chosen as December's student of the month, for the character trait of "Caring."  So we got to go to the school for the Student of the Month Assembly, and I enjoyed watching him act so grown up while at school..
