We moved into our house just a little over 2 years ago, Natalie was a week old, and we were homeless for about 4 days. Natalie's room was painted a light green and baby blue, and I knew that I wanted it to be more girlie, so I told Garry we had to paint it before we moved all of her stuff in, while we were at it, we painted our room as well, utilizing the same dark brown color on the bottom of both rooms. Carson's room on the other hand was pretty neutral, tanish on the bottom and a light cream on the top, so I didn't feel like it "had" to be done before we moved in, and I had newborn, and Garry was doing all of the work...............So we left it.
Carson was at my mom's when we moved in, and he came back, and felt slightly jaded that we didn't paint his room too, so we made promises that it would get done, we just needed to wait............and wait..............and wait............
I'm sure it seemed like forever in his little 4, 5, and 6 year old brain. But we finally followed through on our deal. We sent Carson once again on his annual trip to Grandma's house, and I coerced Garry into helping me and we painted the boys room.
A couple of years ago, someone gave us this train table, I wasn't in love with the colors, but it was functional, and sometimes that is all that matters. So this was the beginning of my inspiration.
I'm hoping that the lego phase lasts a while, because it was no small feat making him a lego room.
Garry thought I was crazy, but I decided the walls needed a little bit of texture to make them look like actual legos. You can see it in this close up, but we added those little buttons on every wall.
I forgot to take pictures earlier so here he is in his blissful slumber. We're not quite complete with the room just yet. My goal before the end of the summer which is quickly approaching is to make him a couple blankets for his bed bunk bed and curtains that match his room.
Right as we were finishing the painting, I asked Garry if he thought we could paint Carson's dresser's too, so that added another day to our project, but I thought they turned out super cute.
And of course we had to paint him a message on the back :)
He was so excited when he came home, and saw his room, he couldn't believe we FINALLY did it, I was glad that he liked it!

So cute & creative! I feel bad for my kids--I don't have an ounce of creativity when it come to painting/decorating.
So cute. I love the "painted with LOVE by mom and dad" thing. That will make it so memorable
