Christmas 2011

December 2011

Christmas is really the only holiday that we decorate for.........I keep thinking that maybe someday when I'm "grown up" that I would decorate for more, but since I guess I'm mostly grown up now, it's probably not likely.  I think probably it is more likely that I might someday have a "holiday shelf" to feature.....but who knows!
I think the kids enjoy the decorations as much as I do, which is fun!

We did a photo shoot of my character children......they are soooooo funny.........just ask them :)

We had dinner with Garry's parents on Christmas Eve, and the kids opened a few gifts.  We then came home and the kids opened their Christmas pj's, and we read stories, and got the treats ready to go for Santa.

Christmas morning was wonderful.  We had to wake the kids up a little early so we could get everything we wanted to do done before church, but it was nice that it was at eleven so we didn't have to get up super early.

Carson is peering up the chimney to see if there were any remains of Santa or Fred our elf, and no such luck.  He was so sad on Christmas Eve, and started crying telling Fred good-bye, and that he really hoped he would come back again next year, and to be a good elf.  It was a very sweet moment!

We did our Christmas morning gifts, and had breakfast, a crockpot casserole, with monkey bread and oranges, Mmmmm!  And then got the kids all ready to go to church.  It was a nice meeting.  The kids played most of the afternoon, and then we went to Garry's cousin's house for Christmas dinner, and to play cards.

The next day, we left early to go to Grandma Hope's house for a few days.  My sister Jenn cam with her two  girls, and Natalie and Kaiya had a ball!  It is so fun having cousin's the same age, and hopefully we'll live close enough again someday to see each other more, we're thankful for the modern marvels of skype and facetime to stay a bit more in touch!

It was a great Christmas season, and we're thankful for so many blessings in our lives!
