I have mixed emotions about Valentines Day. I'm all for having a day that you can set aside to tell people that you love them. But it shouldn't come as a surprise...I think you should be showing/displaying your love daily not necessarily with gifts and such, but more by actions, and take Valentines Day or other special days to go beyond the ordinary. I also despise that flowers are such a rip off on Valentines Day, I mean really, is it worth all the additional funds to just get flowers? I don't know, I'm sure there are many differing opinions, and I'm not saying it doesn't make you feel special, just that florists make a killing that week!
Okay, enough of my rant :) I like to do fun things for my kids, I liked getting things from my mom growing up, it did make me feel special, and I want to carry that on for my own children. We talked about getting a heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's but since we had ordered pizza earlier in the weekend, decided that we would make heart shaped meatloaf instead...
It was good.
Carson won't look at me in pictures, he is too busy checking out his stuff, Natalie gave me a half smile...
