However, this adventure was much more successful! When we got to the bowling alley, only two of their lanes had bumpers on them, and there was one person ahead of us on the list. We decided to go ahead and start bowling on a regular lane, and just see how it went.
I learned a pretty big lesson, Carson really was having a great time, but he kept getting gutter balls, Garry and I would take turns trying to show him how to get the ball to go down the middle of the lane, even trying the granny shot. With no success! I was feeling a little bad, because I wanted him to do "well," and Garry finally asks, so do you define well, or does Carson? It really got me to thinking, well, yeah you don't have to win to have a great time. Especially as a four year old, the most important goal should be to have fun, and enjoy yourself. In this world we live in, there is going to be plenty of times where he will feel pressure to do "well" we will just try to take these few opportunities to enjoy spending time together as a family!
