Christmas Day

Christmas Morning was fantastic! We didn't end up going to Garry's grandma's house for dinner, so he got up early to go bring her to our house for brunch. I finally decided to get up at 9, and as I was getting a few things ready for breakfast, and getting in the shower, Carson finally woke up at nearly 10. It was great! He has been the easiest going kid about Christmas this year, when I asked him what he wanted Santa to bring him, he says "oh, I don't know, maybe just clothes or something"!! So I asked him if he would be happy with whatever Santa brought, and he says yeah, I know it will be fun. I don't know how we got so lucky with him!

So as he woke up, I was just about to get in the shower, and so I said buddy, can you wait just a couple of minutes, and then we'll go see what Santa brought you? He looks at me, and ponders for just a moment, and then says, sure mom, would it be okay if I watched a movie while I wait? I have the best kid in the world!

I think I was most excited about the game Hungry, Hungry Hippos. It was one of my favorite games as a little kid, and I was so excited to be able to play it with Carson!

Okay, so I was going to post videos, but I got tired of waiting! Hopefully I'll post them on facebook this week, so you can look at them there!

He was so happy with everything he got, and it was hugs all around. It made me so happy that he really is appreciative of gifts, and seems to be able to express his thankfulness to those who have given. This year, we also thought it was important, not because we needed anything in particular, but just to focus more on the giving and not the getting that we take Carson to buy a present for both mom and dad. He was so excited to give, it was so great to see his little soul blossom this year.

These were the icicles right out side our window. It was pretty cool to be able to see the snow hanging off the roof. Garry knocked the icicles down 2 or 3 different times, and each time, by the end of the next day they would be just a little bit longer.

I was so excited to have Christmas dinner at home! We went half way out... I didn't make salads or anything, just because we knew we couldn't eat everything.

It was wonderful to be able to spend time together as a family, and truely appreciate the blessings we have in our lives, and to celebrate the birth of the Savior at this beautiful time of year.
