Garry has become friends with the band director at East Valley Middle School, and Chris, the director had asked Garry if he and I would be interested in chaperoning for his jr. high groups to the jr. lilac parade in downtown Spokane. He told him sure, so we all, Garry, Carson, and I loaded up on a school bus, Carson's favorite kind of travel, and went with a bunch of jr. high kids. Carson was a trooper! He marched and stayed up with all of the kids through the whole parade and had such a fun time! Funny side note. There was an Eagle Mascot riding in the car in front of us, and I think that is what kept Carson moving.... He kept asking me, "mom can we go get the penguin?" I was so confused, I wasn't sure what penguin he was talking about. However, we came near the end of the parade and there was a bit of an incline to finish up and Carsonator goes trucking up the hill. I was like hold on buddy, but he saw his opportunity. As the hill got a little steeper, the walking group in front of the car with the "penguin" slowed down a bit as did the car, so Carson decides it is time to make his move, and I finally catch on what penguin he's talking about. I catch up with him, and he says, "mom I want to give that penguin a shake" So I told him we would try to catch the penguin at the end of the parade in the parking lot because we couldn't stop him during the paraded. He seemed pleased with that answer. Unfortunately when we got back to the parking lot the "penguin" had already flown the coop and he didn't get to have his shake....
