Halloween

October 31. 2011

I enjoy Halloween, I enjoy it even more with my kids than I think I did as a child...I'm not really sure, I liked to dress up in elementary school, I didn't really enjoy it in high school or college. A couple of years after I met my friend Seleta, I dressed up. She loved halloween, and always had so much fun, and it was slightly contagious.

As a mom, I think it's totally awesome to dress the kiddos up. I want to go all out. I would really love to be totally resourceful and make their costumes, like last year, but I have decided that working full-time does not lend itself to being crafty all the time, and sometimes the sanity that comes with buying costumes is TOTALLY worth it!

A couple of weeks before Halloween, we went to the park to take a few photo's of their costumes.

Carson was more than thrilled to be Darth Vadar this year.....he is slightly obsessed.

I thought his interpretation of action shots ended up pretty good :)
Natalie, Natalie, Natalie, what can I say we are fully into her lovely terrifying two's, and she is very extreme when dealing with any emotion, I was thankful to get some pleasant shots of her....these were some of the few that she wasn't scowling at me!

Neither one of them really liked wearing their head gear, and Carson kept telling me, "Mom if you're going to take our picture, don't you want to see our faces?"

I finally figured out that telling jokes is the best way to get them both to smile, Carson thinks I'm funny, and Natalie thinks Carson's funny.....It's a perfect scenario.
This is the somewhat more realistic shot of how our evening photo shoot went....Natalie didn't want to take pictures.....
We took the kids to the high school harvest party again, and they had a grand time!

They both ended up with quite a bit of loot.
We went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat. Weston came with us as well, and kept looking at Carson funny until he would lift his mask up, and then smile when he saw Carson's face, the whole Darth Vadar face kept wigging him out.

We went and saw Dadd-o at rehearsal, and then the kids and I went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Dadd-o brought home a pumpkin pizza, and we had a grand night!
The kiddo's freezing after our trip around the neighborhood.

Hope you all had a fun Halloween!
