I have always enjoyed making our own Thanksgiving dinner, even if we end up going somewhere else for the actual day. I enjoy cooking big meals like this, and it is great fun to have such a plentiful feast!
So this year, courtesy of Our Best Bites, we had a fantastic meal! We brined the turkey a day a head, and it turned out beautifully, and was super moist, I loved it. But I think my most favorite part of the meal had to be the World's Best Dinner Rolls, and comparatively speaking, they were pretty simple, and OH. SO. DELICIOUS!
We even made our own pie, with homemade whip cream, and it was also so yummy, I take absolutely no credit for creating such a wonderful dinner, but with a little help from some fabulous recipes, it was to die for!
So beyond the feast, I had a very full and happy heart this Thanksgiving season! Life is good, and though sometimes things get pushed out of perspective, I am realizing more and more that your success and happiness are very much integrated with your attitude and service to others. I am truly thankful for job, and the students I get to work with each day, they are fine young people, and they care deeply about music, and as a music teacher, nothing pleases me more! I am thankful for our ward family, and all of the friends I have made since moving here, it is nice to know there are so many others, "fighting the good fight," and that you always have someone who will understand where you are coming from. I am thankful for my work colleagues and friends, in the last couple of years, we have hired some great teachers, and I love not being the "new guy" anymore, and being inspired by their teaching, and how good they are with kids. I am thankful for my mom and my sisters, they just mean the world to me, I am so thankful for the short amounts of time we are able to spend together, and love seeing our kiddos interact and develop those bonds as cousins. I am thankful for my own two beautiful kids, and how patient they are with me figuring out this whole mom thing, I feel like every year, I have another monumental break through with our family dynamic, and I just love them to pieces! I am incredibly thankful for Garry, he is my best friend, and I am just so happy that he makes it so easy some days.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
