Spring Break 2011

Spring Break was fun, we went to my mom's for the first part of the week, and then came back to have a little time to veg at home before we had to go back to school. We are trying really hard to work on Carson listening the first time, as I am sure every parent of a 6 year old does. So I made a chart, and told him if he filled in the chart, he would get a surprise, and at the end of the week if it was completely full we would go to Riverfront park to buy our summer passes.

It came down to the wire, and we made him put his sweatshirt on backward and cover up his face, I made him guess where we were at, and we got all the way in the front door before he guessed Chuck E. Cheese, boy was he surprised. I called and invited Garry's parents to go with us, and since Carson was listening told her we wanted to go to the rat, so all day Carson says come on mom, can we go to the rat? It was funny.
While we were there, we had quite the excitement, Garry's dad recently had hip surgery, and while we were sitting at the table, his newly replaced hip popped out of the socket, he was in quite a bit of pain, and they ended up calling the ambulance because it didn't stop hurting, we tried to keep Carson occupied so he would stay out of the way of the ambulance workers. Thankfully after taking him to the hospital they were able to pop it back into joint, and sent him home that night, it was quite the adventure!

By the end of the week Carson earned his trip downtown, and he was so funny, he insisted on wearing his sweatshirt with the hood up, and his reflecting aviator's, I told him he looked like the una-bomber, and he's like...who's that.
Natalie is my little thrill seeker, even though it was blurry I had to include it, she was screaming (with joy) and putting her hands up, she thought it was great to go faster and faster.
