Have I mentioned that I'm vain?

Image and what people think are somewhat important to me. Not in the peer pressure, I'm going to change because of what people think kind of way, but more in like when my kids leave the house their clothes need to be more than presentable, they need to be cute, or at least my definition of cute. They need to have their hair done, not just combed. They need to have their shoes on the correct feet. When pictures are taken, I expect all of the above things to be accomplished, I don't think messy face pictures are cute, and it makes my skin crawl to see pictures other people have taken of my children when they are looking unkempt. Now just to be clear, this doesn't always happen, sometimes.................it just doesn't happen. Also another point of clarification, it doesn't bother me when I see other kids in any of the above circumstances, like I said sometimes it just doesn't happen, I'm not judging. However as standard protocol it is the expectation in the LaPlante house.
Can you imagine my ultimate disappointment to see this when I picked up Natalie last night....
One of my friends is moving away, so we were having a farewell girls night party on Friday, I had one of my students watch the kids at the end of the basketball game, and then brought them home to put them to bed. Both the kids were asleep when I got home, and then on Saturday, Garry and I were hosting at EVHS the region's Solo/Ensemble Music Festival. So we left the kids sleeping and Garry's mom came over. We didn't pick them up until about 8 on Saturday night, and I was shocked to see her tooth. No one knows how it happened, and now my baby has a snaggle tooth! AGHHHHHH!!!!!!
I really try not to get worked up over injury's and things that happen, kids are kids and they fall and get hurt and things happen that you can't always prevent, but scratches and bruises will heal, I always have that in the back of my mind, but it's not like her tooth is going to grow back. I will call the dentist in the morning, and I'm hoping they will do something, as I was reading on the internet I am hopeful that they will just put a little filling in or something because it is a biting surface, and it's big enough that it may be close to the nerves. Garry says, its just a baby tooth, don't freak out, but then the vain part of me thinks................But yeah, I am going to think about this in every picture for the next five years........................
Maybe this is a lesson in trying to help me be humble?

He he....I'm mean....that is so not funny. Really...It's not funny but....it's life, right?

I am one of those mom's that goes to the store with "unkept" kids. I do care...I really do....but I just don't have the energy to keep up with 4...yes, 4 boys. It's exhausting. I do, however, hang Gabe's shirts up during the school year so that he at least has a nice, wrinkle free, shirt for school. I am the best mom, huh?

Good luck tomorrow. I hope for your vain sake, he he, the dentist can do something.

When Trevin was about 14 months old, he fell in the tub and his front teeth hit the inside, side of the tub. His front teeth shattered and were then in the shape of dracula teeth...I FREAKED! When rang to the dentist, and then they shaved them down to try to even them out. I felt awful. They said, he caused no damage, and his grown up teeth have sinced come in fine. So I totally get the VAIN part. But you are right, kids are kids, sometimes!
