I always think that projects should be much easier than they usually end up being, and it's not that it was hard exactly, but it took much longer than I had projected in my head. We were well on our way, and probably would have been done with more time to spare, but Natalie ended up in the hospital, (more to come on that). As we started, we marked off the area where we wanted the swingset, and Garry went to rent a sod cutter. After just a couple passes with the cutter through the grass, the self-propelled belt fell off, and we ended up having to take it back to home depot to exchange it for another one. But once we got a sod cutter that worked that part of the project went much faster! We started rolling up the cut grass, and decided to call in help because it was much harder than it looked! Taylor and Justin do good work!

As we priced each of our options for a barrier around the playground area, we decided that for a difference of $50, it would be worth it to have someone come in and do all the work for us. And what a slick thing they do! From the time they pulled up infront of our house till the time they pulled away was 40 minutes, and they just made a smooth little concrete curb all around our playground, it was fascinating to watch.
Then the actual building of the swingset commenced. It was so hard for Carson to be patient, he wanted so badly to help his dad, but we all know how much help 5 year olds can be sometimes :) It was quite the project, but after 2 1/2 days, the swingset was completed at 9:30 pm. Carson was so excited when we came home from the grocery store, I couldn't tell him no when he wanted to go play on it for a while.
Because we got a little held up, we didn't get the gravel put in before Natalie's party, since we're going to be out of town a few weeks, Garry will have it all finished by the time we get home. It will be oh so nice!
Great job Dadd-o!!
