Carson is 5!!!

Carson turned 5 this year! So hard for me to believe! It has been a bit of a whirlwind. It seems like 2-4 just kind of all ran together. Carson was 2 when we moved to Spokane...I thought he was such a big boy, hahahaha, I laugh at myself! I am excited for him because I know there are only exciting things in store for his future, but in some ways, it almost seems like it is the beginning of the end. No more toddlerdom, after you go to school, the next big milestone is high school graduation... YIKES! I'm sure the next few years will fly by as well, but we'll enjoy our little dude. Being his mom has been such a learning experience, and so gratifying, I wouldn't trade him, or the experience.

So after last year, I was only a little hesitant for what this birthday had in store for us....I am happy to report, that it was reasonably uneventful! Garry went to the store, and we asked Carson what kind of dessert he wanted for his birthday dinner because I wasn't going to make a cake quite yet, and he told us, a cherry vanilla pie. Some days I don't know where he comes from! So this is what Garry came home with, and it was quite tasty!

I decided to make two cakes for Carson this year. After Christmas, I was in Michaels, and they had a ton of pirate decorations for super cheap, so we went with the pirate theme, and it was fun to prepare for. So after a mini-meltdown trying to get the cakes how I wanted them, here they are in all their glory!
This was the first year that we had a "friend" party. It was very fun, and Carson loved having so many kiddos to play with. I...........was exhausted when it was over. Apparently in 5 year old land, Pin the Patch on the Pirate, and LIMBO, are really cool games, and all the rest are, hmmmm.....Not so fun? Thanks to Kimberlee, we had a super-hunky pirate for our Pin the Patch on the Pirate game ;)

Here is our big 5 year old, I know the next year will be full of excitement, and I can't wait for the ride!
