Marching Band Trip to Auburn

The marching band had their last competition in Auburn the weekend before Veteran's Day. On the way down, the kids always stop in Seattle to play around for a few hours, we decided to take the kids to the aquarium since it was so cold and rainy. Carson seemed to be a little more into it this time we went.

Here's the comparison shot from when we took him a couple summers ago.

Since Dadd-o had to stay in the gym with his students, the kiddos and I got a hotel room, they both thought it was pretty cool to stay in the big bed.

It was so rainy and soggy! The kids all had their rain ponchos on, I didn't grab one for Carson, so the bus driver made a make-shift one out of a trash bag for him.
The band did really well at this competition, the got 2nd in the parade, 3rd in their division for the field show, best percussion for the third year in a row, and also won the award for best music. They have shown some drastic improvements, they were also ranked 15th out 35 participating bands, it was pretty sweet.
