Head Lice Adventure

And what an adventure it has been!!!!! I thankfully have been oblivious through most of it, but we have hit it head on, and with any luck, those little nasty bugs are gone!!!

A couple days after Carson had been at my mom's, she asked me, does Carson scratch his head a lot? I told her that sometimes he did, but I don't know. She thought maybe it was his sensitive skin to the chlorine or something, and checked his head, but didn't see anything.

On Monday, Carson continues to scratch his head like a banshee, I look at it, and see what appear to be little specks of dirt in his hair, but told him to get in the bath because he must just be really dirty....

After scrubbing his head like crazy, dirt will not come out. I'm starting to freak out a bit, Garry is telling me that I'm getting worked up about nothing.... We had a weight check for Natalie at the dr, so I had her look at Carson's head, sure enough, looks like head lice. EEEWWWWWW, so grossed out!

We come home, and apply the head lice shampoo and start combing the little nits off of his skull. Talk about grossed out, his head was covered! So as preventative maintenance we do my head as well. So much for preventing, my head is as well covered. At this point, I'm having a complete meltdown!

Next morning, Carson is still scratching his head, so we took drastic measures and shaved his head! At the end of the school year, Carson had wanted me to shave his head, and I told him not until after we blessed Natalie, because I wanted him to have hair in the pictures. Well, now he is changing his mind! I bribed him with 5 bucks, and had him talked into it, until we took the first pass on his head, and he starts screaming, no I changed my mind, I don't want bald hair. Too late!

He looks in the mirror upon completion, and states, I hate bald hair, and proceeds to scream at himself in the mirror.

Now, judge if you must, but this is truly once in my life that I firmly believe ignorance is bliss! We have had so much going on, that I don't think I could have handled this at any point in the two weeks prior to my mom taking him. Thankfully, our baby did not get headlice! But now we wait as the bald little man grows his hair back........
