Dude Day

For several months, Carson has delighted in the occasional "Dude Time." AKA, Dad & Carson get to do something cool while mom is either working, or cleaning or something. Last week, Carson and I were walking through the school on our way out, and Carson asked, "Hey mom, so are you and me having dude time?" I told him no, that it was just going to be mom and Carson today, he looks at me with his crooked questioning look and asks, "So it's just dude time when I'm with dad because he's a dude, and I'm a dude??" I said yep. Then he asks, "so today is just like mom, and dude time?" I laugh, and tell him that yes today is just mom and dude time. Funny little guy.

Sunday Carson woke up with his right eye nearly swollen shut, and gunk oozing out of it. At first I just thought it looked like allergies or something, however as the day progressed, I began to wonder if it might be pink eye, it was really swollen, and the ooze did not stop coming out. YUCK! We got a Dr. appointment Monday morning, and the doctor looked at it, and decided that it was not in fact pink eye. Better yet.... He had a sinus infection that instead of dripping out his nose was exciting through his little tiny eye holes. Poor Guy! No wonder the oozing would not end! So the dr. prescribed antibiotic to help clear it up, and he looks much better today.

Yesterday evening, we decided that Carson should probably not go to school today, and so they got to have a beloved "Dude Day." Carson had a grand time hanging out with his dad all day. When I was talking to Garry at one point throughout the day, he says do you want to talk to your mom Carson? He says, no I'm having dude time. Oh well.
