Happy Birthday Garry

I enjoy making food, dessert, dinner, breakfast, baking, it doesn't really matter I just like making food, which I think is what is hindering the whole weight loss journey??!?! I don't think I like eating it quite as much as I like making it, but it's not like you can let it go to waste! Okay, I on a tangent, and that was not was this post was about.

Happy Birthday to Garry! He turned 33 this year. It was a rather peaceful day/weekend. Garry bought a motorcycle, remember? So I googled motorcycle cakes, and decided that I could do this one with reasonable success. So my question for those of you who bake very often, how do you get the frosting colors more vibrant? I got some of the wilson's gel coloring, but I thought it tasted horrible especially the red stuff, by the time I added enough to not nearly make it the color that I wanted, it was very bitter. Who knows, oops, sidetracked again......This one tasted pretty good though, I just added regular food coloring it just didn't get very dark, but it was yummy, and I found a new trick, you may know about it already, but you can substitute applesauce for the oil in a box cake mix equal parts, and it makes it super moist, and doesn't add any more extra calories, bonus right?

Carson totally dug the motorcycle cake, he thought it was "super awesome."

Happy Birthday, my love!
